Are you aware of the e-shopping site called Shoppe? This platform was first launched in Singapore in 2015 then reached to Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Basically covering the south east asia. It got me thinking how Uber accepted bitcoin and I wondered if is it possible that e-shopping site accepts bitcoin?
Maybe not. Shopee is known for very cheap items and I doubt there will be people wanting to pay in bitcoin. And is bitcoin that big in south east asia? But I thought that if bitcoin gets accepted in shopee, it will be a huge sign of adoption.
I am not aware of the e-shopping site but one that has been very popular in my country is Temu, located in China. They came into the Nigerian market with very aggressive marketing and they were everywhere and anywhere you think that human interactions takes place on the internet. But they cannot accept bitcoin even though it will have been great. Since it is the regular non-bitcoin people that mostly shop there, they had to fix any cross border payment issues that may come up and made it easy for people in my country to be able to use their cards to make direct payment using our local bank cards. Bitcoin may get accepted in the future and I look forward to it.
You made it clear that they came from China
which banned Bitcoin outrightly, and
can'tcame to
important in Nigeria
which obviously isn't very friendly to crypto currency transaction , making it a double disadvantage for crypto payments to be accepted. Maybe if Nigeria government is more open to crypto dealings within the country, Temu might adjust easily because I see great flexibility in that company although I still view it as scam for personal reasons and the way they bug people with promotional emails and notifications
