But people just impose things only when they want but not even entirely following the religion itself which is enough proof that they don't really care about the religious beliefs just the votes. Instead they should create awareness and educate people about the negatives of addiction and what they will be losing in terms of finance and the relationships in families will be ruined too which could shape them better and be responsible with their choices.
In my country, gambling is prohibited because it violates both state law and religion. The majority of the population here is Muslim, who strongly oppose gambling. Yet, many people still engage in it, even considering it a legitimate activity. Some young people even dare to do it openly. And, in my opinion, this is more a matter of individual awareness. I'm sure those who gamble in my country are aware that it's prohibited, but they do it because their economic situation is in disarray and they place their hopes in gambling. But this is, of course, the wrong choice.
When someone faces a financial or economic problem, they will seek a solution, namely by working. But unfortunately, many people make the wrong decision by choosing gambling. Instead of quickly improving their lives, they actually get deeper into gambling, making it difficult to break free from their addiction, which only makes them experience even more difficulties.
