Gambling is not about winning the most, it should be taken for entertainment and turned into accordingly. I tend to formulate some principles for those gamblers who can enjoy the effect. Among them as you said play for entertainment, secondly consider your income capacity do not let yourself go beyond your means and thirdly, stop yourself at the right time. You can prevent your addiction to gambling by applying these strategies maintaining a certain amount of money for spending and gambling. It is important that you refrain from being influenced by others take care of your family. You should be responsible for continuing to gamble responsibly.
I find the third rule to be very essential if one is to maintain a healthy gambling lifestyle. Knowing when to stop yourself from gambling is an essential quality that every gambler must master, because when you are able to control your emotions to the point that you can turn off/on the switch anytime you want then that's a big win for you because you'll be able to avoid entering into some kind of traps.
Some gamblers, even in the face of danger, they still can't walk away or stop themselves from gambling, simply because they feel that they'd be in a terrible loss if they quit or walk away, and then I ask, isn't it better to cut your losses than to lose everything? This is just common sense, but it's quite unfortunate not everyone has it.
