~ But this is far from a defendable total, and like I have said many times in the past this series doesn't make any sense. Zimbabwe should play among other tier-2 test nations and associate teams, and not against strong teams such as New Zealand and South Africa.
These matches are just like formalities. Zimbabwe used to be a good team in the past. This is why they are still able to play with top countries. But they won't get similar opportunities in the future for their current performance. I believe Zimbabwe will lose most of the T20 matches even if they play with those teams who don't have test cricket status. It will be a big surprise if Zimbabwe somehow wins a match in this Tri-Series.
Had there been some other team except Zimbabwe it would have been more interesting competition. Even teams like Scotland, Netherlands, Oman or United States of America would have shown a better performance than this Zimbabwe team. The only advantage or reason, Zimbabwe has to be in this series is because it is being hosted in Zimbabwe. Also, I don't know why there is a gap of a day between each match and therefore the next game will be played tomorrow between Zimbabwe and South Africa, that would be another one sided affair. Sikandar Raza has to think out of the box to get any good results for the host nation.
