It was difficult for a lot people who were chronically addicted to finally stop but from just a few that I was able to observe they were consistently involved in other things to take Their attention away from it, like playing video games, looking for jobs online, doing a lot of work that keeps their mind distracted from it
Another thing a gambler can look out for to help overcome addiction is to ask themselves some questions, such as why they have an interest in gambling. Whatever the answer is, they should look for other activities that can provide what gambling offers. If the reason for gambling is to make money, it would be better to learn a skill that can earn money or to get a well-paid job.

If this is achieved, the interest in gambling for the purpose of making money will no longer be there. If fun is the reason for gambling, it would be better to look for other non-gambling games to play and enjoy. An addicted gambler who is able to think critically and understand the source of their problem, and who seeks a way to address it, will surely overcome their addiction in the end.
