Scam comes in different ways, but most people are victims of scams for two major reasons: 1. Greed and 2. Gullibility. Remove these two, and you will hardly be scammed.

Just to top up on this points raised, once it comes to an opportunity, there is nothing that should be made hidden in the whole package, this is strictly business, they should always try to make known to the public what they offer, whom they needed and the terms and conditions for their services, then those eligible can apply, but when its all about secret stuff, avoiding others to know what they intend to offer, shows in transparencies and that alone is a red flag and destruction about to come, there could be more hidden agenda than that when you privately contacted these people for their trickish offers, everything is expected to be done on a plain and mutual transparent atmosphere.

They will tell you that it is a limited opportunity, when they make it open, you as a newbie will not be able to benefit from it, that's why they decided to contact you privately and give a special package lol. Then then gullible according to EarnOnVictor will buy in and get scammed.
Scammers are negatively smart and they are always conscious and discovering means to rip people of their had earned money.
Apart from greed, I don't know why anyone that's aware of bitcoin will still fall these random scams.

The risk with this kind of offers is that, if someone you already know and has a good reputation like being a campaign manager or a reputable member you have been familiar with, such offer could be treated as an opportunity, but when its coming from a newbie we are not familiar with, then this turns to be most likely a scam, because they know quite alright they have nothing to lose if they scam us, we cant trace them or leave a negative review on them that could weigh the amount of what they had caused us, any strange and unfamiliar offers should be disregarded.
