He doesn't like to always play as LB, and wants CB. Notwithstanding, Maresca rejected his request. He has no choice other than leave from Chelsea. He personally agreed in term with Atletico Madrid, but his club has not yet reached final agreement regarding his final fees.
I hope he goes there asap. It's a win win situation for him and his club. He gets CB position, and his club flip him for 2.5x profit. It's nice business.
It's not all players that can play out of their natural position and excel so I quite understand Veiga because if he doesn't perform well, he'd see less matches and it will seem as if he doesn't know how to play which could make him lose form. I also feel that he shouldn't feel bad about leaving Chelsea since it's obvious they've made their decision. He needs to go to a club that needs his services more and grow there so that his former club would see his progress and wish they had retained him.
