I really don't think it's the club that has to decide wether a player can go in for a surgical operation or not. It has to be the individual that can decide that and I think he didn't want it then until now. Remember his been nursing that shoulder injury since his Borussia Dortmund days! Maybe the club finally convinced him to go for it and he accepted since it's been coursing him lots of discomfort. I didn't even know he has had this problem since because sometimes you see him after going down, then he touches his shoulder, I just thought maybe it was a knock, I didn't know it was even this serious.
