Im not 100% with you guys on this one, in previous season Milan try some of that and ended up pretty bad for them, pure young gem without good old players who suit them and teach the youngs not only how to play but also how to behave is a waste of talent.

They didn't fail in the previous season because they had a young squad; they failed because they lacked quality players and quality management.
They are not a retirement home. They need to start doing business like a big club if they want to be one. I understand that Modric is free and will not earn much, but they need players who are level raisers.
