We are used to say that a gambler should gamble with an amount he can afford to lose but in the actual sense do we think there is any amount a gambler can afford to lose?

Yes and they're literally those values that we spend on things that doesn't bring actually values exempt for pleasures that aren't associated with the probabilities to bring Incomes.
It could be such of those budgeted funds for outdoors or materialistic items.
And that's why we're Speculating that gamblers should assume gambling for entertainment and not a sort of income which is ought to inform us that gambling shouldn't be a form of events to be assumed for a source of income so that, we'd be mindful of the amount made budgeted for it won't worth going against what we can afford to loose for it.
