It seems likely that Man United will again face a similar situation, as they previously expressed interest in Viktor Gyokeres, but ultimately failed to finalize negotiations, leading to the player joining a rival. There should now be other options if negotiations go well for Newcastle, as I'm confident the player will choose Newcastle.

Definitely he will most likely be a Newcastle player than a Manchester United player, Newcastle seems to be a more stable team than Manchester United and they also qualified for an European competition which Manchester isn't part of any t all. If it were possible Manchester United would have gone for Isak as it's evident he will leave the club but the problem is that, a player lie Isak would want to join another Champions League team if truly he will depart Newcastle according to what he said.
