I don't think there is any need for this the archival already covers this function besides there are some advantages to it like people shouldn't be able to see the project before the actual launch. Also the archival board is being moderated too so there isn't much of a problem.
Any project that hasn't been launched but still needs some discussions come I have a topic in the project development board. I think you should have an answer already op. You should consider locking the thread.
