Gamble is just like reggae music, you can't stop reggae but you can reduce the volume. If you're into gambling, there is no limit or those things you listed above can stop a gambler. Gambler only reduce his stake when his losing more money, he will never stop except he has no funds to continue.
The only way to stop gambling is never to get involve, once you are in, its so hard to stop than to begins. Its fun, and some days you win and sort some bills out. Some days you are depressed for losing money, you should have used for other stuff.
This is not true for everyone, I personally can go for months without gambling and it’s not because I don’t have money to gamble or because I’m in some kind of financial crisis but because I just don’t feel like gambling and that feeling can go months until I come across an interesting match that’s being hyped up.
I think this ideology of gambling being difficult to stop applies to people who are deeply addicted to gambling or those who are addicted to it but just haven’t realized that they are addicted to it. For a normal gambler that gambles occasionally, if he doesn’t want to gamble anymore he should be able to stop.
