The only way to stop gambling is never to get involve, once you are in, its so hard to stop than to begins. Its fun, and some days you win and sort some bills out. Some days you are depressed for losing money, you should have used for other stuff.

This is not true for everyone, I personally can go for months without gambling and it’s not because I don’t have money to gamble or because I’m in some kind of financial crisis but because I just don’t feel like gambling and that feeling can go months until I come across an interesting match that’s being hyped up.

I think this ideology of gambling being difficult to stop applies to people who are deeply addicted to gambling or those who are addicted to it but just haven’t realized that they are addicted to it. For a normal gambler that gambles occasionally, if he doesn’t want to gamble anymore he should be able to stop.

Many people are unconsciously linking gambling with addiction. Not all gamblers are addicts as people make it seem. I gamble occasionally and can go days without gambling. If I want to stop gambling today, it will take me just a decision because I am not addicted. This is as opposed to what @Juicyhome said.

Others who might mostly find it difficult to stop are those who gamble for money and have no other source of income from anyone. They wouldn't want to stop that one thing that gives them hope.
