As they have been added in the list of UE of countries of high risk with regards to anti-money laundering. So it forces the country to re-enact policies like banning crypto in general as it poses threat as it could be "used by criminals in the country" for illegal activities.
Panama removed and Monaco and Algeria added? This shows that these moves are only political agendas and have no basis in reality.  Cheesy

I understand that the Algerian government is just protecting its people from frauds, scams and other illegal activities that made them believe is due to the adoption and usage of cryptocurrencies. They're not wrong with that because it actually happens but, they also have to look at the side that most fiat transactions are being done with those activities as well. They're only looking at the side of usage of crypto in the early days because that's how it's been known for especially for Bitcoin. But the time has changed and adoption has grown over the period of time and the usecase of Bitcoin is no longer only with that but massively adopted even by the biggest financial institutions. One day they're going to alter this decision when most countries that have openly adopted it has seen a growth within their economy.
You are very wrong. Most of the fraud and scams are done using traditional currency. Why don't they ban those first? This is just a stupid country led by stupid people.

It is not reasonable for the Algerian government to prioritize Bitcoin and then ban it again. This is creating a kind of instability in the country and harassing investors and ordinary people.
You get it.
