In principle I do not agree that people should be red-tagged for political opinions, but when deaths are involved I see it as understandable to a certain extent.
LOL — he literally calls me “they”.
An Iranian using woke gender terminology… while people with such identities would face a much more tragic fate in Iran.
I absolutely protest being called “they.” I’m a white, hairy, fat, strong, jacked dude. My pronouns are HE/HIM.
This may simply be because he is using an online translator. You can tell that online translators are woke because they use “they” by default. I think you've got a bit of a grudge against each other and anything adds fuel to the fire, as in this example.
Oh, actually, it’s just a joke. I just found it funny that a member of Iran’s homophobic society called me “they.”
But I’m not offended at all — he can call me “she,” “it,” or… whatever he likes )) I’m not a homophobe, I respect the LGBT community, and there’s no way to offend me that way.
Too much political drama for me to get involved while on vacation, so I'll just leave this here:
The system is for handling trade risk, not for flagging people for good/bad posts/personalities/ideas.
I would like to challenge this point a little.
The trust system is in practice used not only to indicate trustworthiness in the context of personal trades (between users), but also to call out liars, trolls, deliberate misleaders, and promoters of various scam models.
And yes, since the forum includes a Politics & Society section, why shouldn’t the trust system also be used to warn other users when someone is clearly trying to brainwash them with dishonest propaganda?
In today’s world, words, information, and disinformation have become both commodities and weapons.
Shouldn’t we be allowed to publicly point out when someone is spreading anti-Western propaganda?
Besides, back to the realm of P2P trades — would anyone really want to do business with someone who openly expresses contempt for the entire Western world while pushing anti-Western narratives?
PS
In principle I do not agree that people should be red-tagged for political opinions, but when deaths are involved I see it as understandable to a certain extent.
This is indeed a very serious matter.
We’re talking about the propagation of hate and anti-Western narratives — when a skilled, polite, and intelligent propagandist tries to convince Europeans and Americans that their countries are evil, even calling them terrorist states.
It’s destructive propaganda.
