Using trust like this is wrong. However, trust system is not moderated. Unfortunately, there are many people who misuse the trust system and you can even see this in the Default Trust network. The trust system is a well-intentioned idea but poorly implemented. It would actually be better for the site if it didn't exist at all. The trust system is used for many things that have nothing to do with trading. It's full of people who abuse it for their own benefit.
This is true. So long as people utilize trust feedback to punish those they disagree with and other default trust members turn a blind eye to this practice then Default Trust is a horrible failure that does more harm than good. It is the forum’s version of a Covid vaccine.
If you look at how the current DT members have systematically removed a significant portion of my received feedback from the default trust network and realize the time they've put into this endeavor, it is really quite shocking.
I am guessing these users excluding me from DT cannot point to a single negative feedback that I've left that should legitimately be excluded from the default trust network, nor a single positive feedback I've received that they've excluded from the network legitimately. The fact I am currently excluded from Default Trust is a sign of how compromised the network is, not a sign of my trustworthiness. I am still the sole holder of more than a million dollars in funds on behalf of users on this site, not including the millions of dollars held on private keys I have engraved for users here. Something that I doubt many of the other DT members can claim.
Edit: I’m going to have to get a restraining order aren’t I?
