With the ledger (despite all their shortcomings), you could choose a transparent case when ordering.

Not at all. Official device manufacturers don't deliver their products to every point in the world. If you look at the countries they deliver to, you will find that many countries are missing.

Therefore, buyers sometimes simply have no other choice (buying a fake HW device is a very bad choice).
