What Jimmy would have done more is downloading the wallet from official website rather than an Apple student and then verify gpg signature of the wallet to authenticate it
That is just it. I feel safer getting software from their official website and even if from there I'm redirected to the stores to get it, at least they would redirect me to the original version of the software on the stores and maybe if he had visited the official site, he would've seen that there is no dedicated mobile version for it and that it is only available for windows, Mac OS and Linux.

Social engineering is a very scary tool that catches people off guard and more effective when they assume things rather than confirming from the official and reliable source
