Banning influencers from being paid to shill securities (yes XRP is a fucking security, spare me please) would be a great step in the right direction. Financial crimes of this scale that defrauds people should be punished way, way more harshly IMHO. It ruins lives when people are conned into thinking they may have a chance to better their families. XRP/Ripple leaders themselves need imprisoned, can't change my mind. They're that nefarious.
I agree and I think that top-down enforcement is not enough here, it must be bottom-up too. If influencers are at grave risk for promoting something like this where they will suffer a lot of criminal liability consequences if it turns out to be a scam or fraud in some shape later they would think strongly before doing it. The world would see improvement where money could not as easily buy fake advertisement or influence like this. Since in most cases nothing happens and in the few cases that there are consequences, they are not enough, they continue to promote all kinds of scams and fraud. As of this year you can buy organized KOL (a stupid word and stupid thing that should not exist) shilling for any L1 chain.
I'll bet BTC will still be alive a century from now, while centralized coins such as XRP and BNB will fade away into oblivion. The future is unpredictable, so anything's possible.
Again I must mention here that I can't believe that you compared BNB to XRP. The BNB founder is the Jesus of crypto compared to the devil that is XRP and its creators. Horrible misinformation.
Why don't you think they can coexist, play roles and be used in different use cases in the modern financial system?
I know many people hate XRP and altcoins because they are centralized, but if we are realistic and accept the truth. This world is centralized, centralized services will survive and not only that, we depend on them to survive. So there is no need to avoid or badmouth them all the time.
XRP and many altcoins like AVAX, SOL, LINK are providing a lot of practical applications for the financial and banking sector. So, contrary to you, I don't think they will disappear anytime soon, they will become more and more ingrained and play an important role in the modern financial system.
Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies will coexist, and they will play different important roles in the future economy.
Why would a bank use something that they can not control when they can copy the same thing and start their own private blockchain with minimal cost, something that they can control? You'd got to be quite clueless to do that. It is a ridiculous idea that only comes as a result of massive marketing and fake news that altcoin projects create.
