Gambling is similar to all other things in our life. We must do it with well preparation, plan and management that are all vital steps for defending ourselves against many risk. Risk of gambling addiction, risk of losing money or fortune, risk of health damage physically and mentally by addiction of gambling or anything else. I only mention several risks while in fact there are a lot more.

Winning or losing always creates emotion that is either positively or negatively but if we have good management, we won't let emotion makes use too optimistic or very pessimistic and destroy our life. Losing all money is always bad no matter what is the cause: gambling, trading, investment, whatever.

Generally winning or losing with bets, we must stick with our risk and capital management and be disciplined in order to not become an addictive gambler and let gambling destroys our life. When we can gamble responsibly, we can still enjoy gambling and find happiness with it.

I agree, we have to be disciplined in all means when we gamble for us to keep on track. Because not everyone who gambles are having that control to themselves.
So to those who are good in risk and capital management, they all have better way on how to treat their gambling activities better. That prevents them from being addictive.
And with those actions for how they manage those things that we have mentioned, it helps them to check themselves if ever they're about to get addicted or lose control of themselves.
Because if we're already out of control, we lose ourselves as well and that leads to a worse situation that a gambler can ever have. By that mean that it's worse, it's hard to escape if someone gets onto that situation.
