If I talk about my country as an example, it is an underdeveloped country. And there is a lot of corruption here, for example, one-fourth of the budget for a road is used only for improving the road, while the other three percent is taken by government officials and tender contractors into their own pockets. In this way, bribery and corruption are prevalent in almost every sector and that is why my country is basically very backward.
Here, everything from natural resources to agricultural products is abundant, but there is nothing for corruption, we cannot use it properly. And this is why I think that if corruption is eliminated from my country, poverty will also be eliminated.
That is true for many nations, specially for African nations for example. The "west" has sent in total of hundreds of billions of dollars total, maybe even more, but some places still do not have clean drinking water. The other day Mr. Beast ended up raising money to build clean water sources for African villages again, and yet when you look at the older ones he already did, nearly half of them are gone.
So this begs the question, why? And what can be done about it? I am not sure, and I do not have the answer for it, but as long as the aid you send, ends up not aiding, then it's going to stay bad. You have to move forward by putting on top of each aid to keep it going better, if you just do the same again and again, it just won't help.
