if a member can stay out of the forum for over 5 years, what will be the probability that they will come back to the forum someday and still maintain same level of reputation that got them trust from some DT members?
If someone who is
in DT and got inactive comes back and doesn't maintain the same reputation from the past, they will be removed by those who are still active, and if there are other members who trusted them in the past and are now inactive themselves, the currently active DT members can red-tag the account and specify that the previous trust scores are irrelevant and shouldn't be considered.
Perhaps, for those who made it clear they won't return to the forum again, what is the essence of still leaving them in the DT? besides, the positive trust feedback from other DT members should be enough.
As explained by someone else earlier, removing someone from DT who has left the forum might free a whole army of accounts that the user had tagged during his time in the forum for the right reasons. So, it basically defies the purpose of the system because if old DT members are removed only because they are inactive, whatever has happened in the past will suddenly become totally irrevelant and that shouldn't be the case, and records should stay, forever, or at least for as long as possible.
