From what I know about Arman Tsarukyan he is from a rather wealthy family and lives a well lavished lifestyle.
So when someone says that they paid him money to do something, I tend to question the source. And from what you had just stated, I would definitely do the same.
The guy doesn't need to fight for the same reasons that most in the organization have to and rely on fighting two or even three times a year.
From the sounds of it, Arman wants the easiest way to a title as possible and if it isn't on his terms he won't do it. That is all I can really say about this fighter and his current situation of trying to find a fight.
I agree with you, he is very rich. What could Islam offer to him? How much money? He has money, an additional million or two doesn't matter for him. So, it's definitely a false claim.
Do you think that he pulled out of the fight because Islam wasn't an easy fight for the title? He gave Islam the toughest time in his debut and I guess, it wouldn't be a hard fight for Arman. He was losing nothing by fighting Islam. I can't really believe if he pulled out because of back injury cause it's a common thing, you dehydrate so much during the weight cut that everything hearts because everything inside is dry. Pulling out of fight put Arman in much worse state. First of all, Dana White hates him and he won't get an easy title shot the next time and secondly, Topuria is no easy fight. I would say that Topuria is a better fighter than Islam but that's just my opinion.
I seriously don't know what this guy thinks about when he makes such decisions.
There are alot of opinions of Armen pulling out of that fight with Islam but they are all speculation and only he truly knows why he did that.
All I know it has scarred his reputation for the rest of his career. So well done for him on making the wrong choice if he really wasn't injured(I believe he said it was his back) and Dana White did not even know what happened to him that night as he stated in the press conference after that UFC event happened without the original main event scheduled. Because Arman made it to the pre-fight press conference then the day of the fight decided to pull out saying he suffered an undisclosed injury at the time.

I didn't know about his family's wealth. But I believe the path he's taking isn't the best. The organization needs to earn something too, and having a champion the easy way would be frowned upon by the public and the fighters themselves. It would take away all the fighters' merit. So, the fewer fights he has, the worse it will be, which is why he hasn't achieved anything significant.
Completely and utterly agree with you on that take of Arman Tsarukyan and his current status within the organization. I am certain that Dana White is not giving him any time for excuses when his time comes in picking a challenger for his next fight.

Anyways, let's stay on the next fight night for this weekend for UFC Vegas 109.
I have put in my betslip earlier today so here it is:
