Just because it is not super expensive doesn't mean it is not real. Real estate price depends on the square meter and location of it. For example I just quickly searched in our own popular online real estate market thing and found this one which is sold for roughly 7 grand (cheaper than what OP bought):

For me it's too good to be true, I've seen few people got scammed for buying very cheap real estate.

It is a terrible place for foreigners.
Even though I hate my country, but I disagree if it's a terrible place for foreigners. It might be one of the best place for foreigners because people are so welcome and so many tasty foods to try.

The house was actually quite affordable because I bought it from my sibling.

You are comparing it to Bali, which is obviously very different because I live in a subdistrict in West Java where access in terms of roads and other facilities is still inadequate. Even the house I bought currently cannot be accessed by car. So this is clearly a distinguishing factor Smiley
Well you bought from your sibling which is why it can be that cheap.

It's true Bali and sub district in West Java is different. I don't know how much you spent for renovation, but I think if you sell your house double from the price you bought, people gonna interested to buy.

In my case, i bought a 156 m² house for around $23k. The house is located in an area that is not yet densely populated or rapidly developing, situated on the outskirts of the city, about 25 minutes from the city center. This might be why the price is still relatively affordable compared to property prices in the city center. In addition, i spent around $5,300 on renovations to make the house more attractive. Of course, this idea came from my partner Grin
Well, if you're the one who create the thread, I won't doubt if you spent $28K to buy such house . Not as good as your house, but the range is still possible.
