How I avoid scams?
I keep hearing about crypto scams but not sure what to watch out for. Any tips or red flags I should know? For those who experience crypto scam, what lesson have you learned? Appreciate any advice.

Just trust your gut. If something feels off, or it feels too good to be true, then it most likely is. And if you are unsure, feel free to ask the Bitcointalk community before you do anything which can make you lose money.

Do not allow any defi permissions from tokens that you are not 100% sure are real and legit. Giving permission to your wallet can mean it will be emptied by a third party. Also do not use weird wallets that have not been vetted by the Bitcointalk community. And do not give anyone your seed phrase or private key.

There are also some things that seem like scams but are not. Even though they can cost you your money as well.

For example:
For example: Trustwallet is a shitty wallet with traps that will cost you your money. It had a broken UI and no user protection against illiquid, look-alike and/or fake coins. I personally lost over $6000 USD because I mistakenly swapped my SOL tokens for fake BUSD tokens, instead of real BUSD tokens. There was no warning and no way to tell (Because the info button, which shows contract address and so on was broken)  : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5536900
