Bayern Munich deserves a chance to win the game against Leipzig because of the players they've gathered to defend the Bundesliga next season. Leipzig sold their best players and have yet to replace them, while I believe their attacking position will be weak because Xavi Simon is also set to leave the team this summer.
However, Bayern Munich defense might not be great at the start of the season, but I'm not sure they will concede a goal against Leipzig. Leipzig did not perform well last season, and I am beginning to underestimate them this season. Bayern Munich may win the match without conceding a goal, I will bet on the total over 3.5 goals, that's the risks I am willing to take for this match.
Leipzig has always had a very good attack and they regularly score in every match, even if you look at their face-to-face confrontation, Leipzig scores against them in almost every match, I think that this opening match will not be an exception. Bayern's defense is not their strongest side, especially since I am almost sure that they will be carried away by the attack in front of their fans and it will be easier for Leipzig to play on the counterattack. So I think both teams will score in this match.
It depends on what goals Leipzig has, but so far they have never really come close to threaten Bayern in any way. They always finish the season with around 65 points or less and that will probably never be sufficient to win the title unless Bayern plays one of the worst seasons in history. Given that Leipzig has a lot of money available and have been established in the Bundesliga for so long, I was hoping that they can keep climbing up the letter and become another serious contender for the title. But as always and as I said before and this counts for other clubs too, it all depends on what Bayern does. If they play a normal season, it is 95% their title. Leverkusen was the exception obviously.
