Well, you can always redesign bitcoin yourself and fork it for whatever purpose you choose. Or, you can create your
own blockchain to ADVANCE SCIENCE, whatever the fuck that means.
THIS IS LAZY THINKING! YOU HAVE DONE NO ANALYSIS ON THE COSTS OR BENEFITS OF SOLVING AN IMPORTANT SCIENTIFIC PROBLEM BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT THOUGHT ABOUT IT AT ALL!
That's literally been my job for the last 30 years. And I'm not talking about the theoretical mental masturbation that earned you your PhD, I'm talking about designing shit that functions in the real world and keeps people alive.
