A friend of mine also made this same vow but the only different is that he don't gamble everyday like your friend rather he only gamble during weekends and he have been doing this for a very long time now yet I don't see him gambling irresponsibly or even becoming addicted to it, even his love ones knows about his gambling habit but they didn't say anything about it because he knows when he's supposed to gamble and when he's not supposed to gamble,so I think your friend case is quite different from this guy so i think he needs help.

There are many gamblers who can control their gambling, one of the reasons being that they gamble for fun. I have many friends who gamble regularly but do not show any signs of addiction. They are busy all week to earn money and when they get time they indulge in gambling and they use their time wisely like after work they choose a specific time to gamble and at the same time they spend enough time taking care of their family. If you have the mindset that you have to stop after a specific time and you should not spend time gambling beyond you then you can avoid getting addicted to gambling.
