One example is by setting an amount of being spent monthly or weekly. Or anyday that a gambler is able to afford.
Gambling is only for entertainment, so we should not follow any specific strategy here because whenever we gamble without a strategy, it will be seen that we have gambled more than our affordable amount.
So, if necessary, you should use a separate wallet for gambling and keep a specific budget there for a week or month, and that budget should also be divided and used daily. Then, the possibility of additional losses can be avoided to a large extent.
That's a justifiable allocation for how much you're spending in gambling. Having more than 5% is likely the sign that you're doing it too much but as long as you want to stay safe and keep it 5% or under it, you're still responsible for yourself just as what others are saying that we have to keep it affordable whenever we lose.
I don't know how it is for others, but for me, 5% of my monthly income is a good amount for me to enjoy gambling and at the same time it is an easy amount to lose. Because most of the time when I gamble, I end up losing that fund.
