You are completely correct, both the wealthy and penniless are not safe from gambling addiction. But in my opinion the impoverished people have higher risks. i think problems associated with gambling increase by half in impoverished communities then richer ones, and underprivileged communities experience way more damage. Although wealthier people wager more money , those with small income get more of the damage when they lose, they risk from the little that they have, so yes addiction does not care about how much money you got , but the burden is bigger on the poor
