I disagree with you a little on this even though we know that the grassroots football is our major setback. The selection process of the apex team couldn't have been influenced by the grassroots selection since the national team coach is at liberty to choose any Nigerian player from any league all Iver the world. His decision at that level is not influenced by any factor such as tribe and ethnicity but pure based on what he feels is best for his squad.

Obviously, since the selection of players becomes a political selection, that was exactly the time when things went south with our national team football success, Though I can't vividly recall this scenario back then during the time of "Odewinge" a certain player who was selected because his uncle or a relation is holding a political post in the NFF then, and leaving the player who truly qualified and talented to go to that world cup, which left the social media bursted into arguments.

There Was alot of dust that were raised when the list of this present chan eagles were released it's clear that politics were played in the selection process because the list were dominated by only players from one team which is not a true reflection of what the reality on ground in the Nigerian professional football league

What you said is true. I also observed the same thing, the list is not transparent at all because they now make it appear as if other teams don't have good players . It is a known fact that others team have good players that is so supposed to be in the list. Nigeria politics is really something else, I wonder how they can be able to get a good squad. This is going to affect the eagles performance since some of the names that is on the list is not supposed to appear there.
