Rashford will only replace Raphinha if Raphinha has fitness problems because it is clear that Raphinha will not be replaced when he is fit, but initially I thought that in this match when Lewandowski was not in the list, his position would be replaced by Rashford because he could also be placed in that position, but Torres' name came out as a starter, maybe Flick still didn't trust him enough. Rashford hasn't convinced Flick enough for him to start in a match as the season begins and it's going be difficult for Flick to think of picking Rashford over Raphinha who has been an impactful player for his team all last season. Rashford can be given a chance to start in other cup games which might not be much prioritise for Barcelona but in the La'liga and UCL Raphinha will always start and Rashford could come from bench after a few minutes left to play if Barcelona are in control but for now Flack wants to make use of the players he trust to get all the points he needs to start strongly in the new season.
