Barcelona proved that they are a worthy contender for the La Liga title in the first match of the season. There is no doubt that it is going to be much more difficult for Madrid to dominate La Liga this season as well.

How could it be otherwise? Barcelona dominated the match from start to finish, while Mallorca played with only nine players. There was an imbalance in the number of players on the field, so it was only natural that Barcelona dominated the match. However, what Barcelona did when Mallorca was down to nine players from the 40th minute onward was to score only one goal to extend their lead, and that came in the final minutes of the second half. Barcelona should have been able to score more than three goals in that match.

Moving on to the next match, the one between Atlético Madrid and Espanyol is quite interesting.
