The state of living of the people in a country can actually affect their way of gambling addiction. For a poor country, if there is no means of employment and means of survival is very low, some rely on gambling to earn some profits to cater for their larger families, they believe they can make money from there quickly instead of looking out for multiple jobs to help cover for house needs. Old people can also be addicted gamblers but may not be as much as we think, because if they were not addicted to it earlier, they may not find the need to now especially when they’re engaged most of the time. I am also of the opinion that boredom can make them to start gambling even if they don’t in the past and are now retired without doing anything to while away time like reading and exercise.
