He's still very fit to remain a merit source, I looked up his profile and I found he was last active July 19th this year and considering the time span from there till now it's not even up to a month (it's a little common with some members) chances have it that he never knew he was a source.
Note: I haven't read the rest of this thread yet, so there may have been a response clarifying Irfan_pak10's activity and/or whether he and the other two members know they're merit sources.
Being a merit source and not being around for a month is kind of giving the community a kick in the ass, especially if there aren't many sources relative to how big the local board is (and I don't the numbers regarding the Pakistani board). My opinion is that if you took on the "job" of merit source, you really should be spreading out those merits far and wide
Sure, some sources have been at it for years (like me) and have suffered some burnout, but that's ostensibly why Theymos added some more sources recently. And with that.....I'm going to read the rest of this thread, because the merit system is near and dear to my heart.
There is already a new merit source for your local thread (not just irfan_pak10) -- he was just made a source in the last few months. The thing is I'm pretty sure he operates a farm of accounts, just like you do. So you have to get at least a couple of your accounts on his good side so he will merit your posts (if he's not too busy meriting his own accounts).
Lol. Is that how things roll on the Pakistani board? If there is corruption (in the form of merit abuse), which I have no reason to doubt coming from you, then it's obviously common knowledge--or at least it's something Theymos should have been aware of when he selected the merit sources for the Paki board, no?
So why on earth someone would go apply for a free willingness service without them making use of their position actively or do they just have that position to influence others?
They shouldn't do that, and I don't know why someone would. For one thing, you're putting in a lot of effort to apply and then if you get the position as a merit source and do a shitty job at distributing merits, you might run the risk of Theymos taking that position away from you. I don't know what you mean by "influence others" but there's no list of merit sources that's public AFAIK, although it's generally known who the sources are--but it's not like it suddenly puts a golden crown on your head and a throne from which you can observe the rest of the puny non-merit source members. Lol.
Usually, as someone who is that dedicated to forum, at least not by giving out merits constantly but he could create a thread in the in the local board where people can submit their posts and many whenever he comes online he could dedicate at least a day to go through that thread to issues out merits even though he appears against in the next month after having the initial exhausted then it has no effect on his absentism.
Yeah, about that....it might sound great in theory to offer something like that to the community, but I can tell you it ends up as a fucking nightmare eventually.
