I think the mentality best suited any gambler of any status that are greedy and wants to win more. I do not think this kind of action will be perform by a gambler that bet to survive a living. For this kind of gambler are way more careful and clear headed since if he failed to protect his bankroll will leave him with nothing.

There are lots of conspiracy in the internet, even in the news. Most stories are often created not out of real-life story but out of the minds imagination. If ever it is from a real-life story, there are lots of twist and turns that seems very exaggerated. I think that is to dramatized the story and get the sympathy of the readers.
