I knew Girona was poor, last season was a display far away from the previous. But letting Rayo go rampaging in the first half spells a Girona that I somehow even managed to overestimate. And no, even before the red card, the stats showed 11 shots from Rayo and 0 from Girona. And not a single one of us foresaw this either, a draw was the worst a handful of us predicted. What a way to start the season eh? 0 points for everyone, Girona are shite.
Last season, they sold their best striker to AS Roma, and Girona became a team struggling to score goals. Even thoughif Michel iswas still the coach there or there was no change in manager, without good playersplayer resources, things willwould end badly. I've always disliked clubs that rush to sell their good players just because their market value has risen. They think that because they still have a good coach, they can still develop their existing players into even better ones.

Girona was already quite bad last season. But I think this season could be even worse. Last season, they finished 16th, and it's not impossible that they will'll struggle to avoid the relegation zone this season.
