Bitcoin remains a cryptocurrency, and it's undeniable. Bitcoin is the mother of all coins, making it difficult to compare it to altcoins. Bitcoin remains the king of cryptocurrencies. This is why it's crucial for both beginners and those investing in Bitcoin to have basic knowledge of crypto so they can easily distinguish valuable coins from duds.
Never invest in Bitcoin without a clear understanding. At least understand the basics of crypto and security. Although Bitcoin is the best asset for the long term, investing without understanding what you're investing in is extremely risky, and you can't even differentiate between Bitcoin and altcoins. Therefore, it's crucial to have knowledge before investing in Bitcoin. When you have a solid understanding, you'll invest in Bitcoin without hesitation.
For someone who’s desirous to invest in bitcoin you only need to be able to figure out your discretionary income first and get started with accumulating bitcoin. I find it quite misleading using the term crypto where you can be straightforward and say just bitcoin because that’s what the individual is investing on and not just crypto. If you’re talking bitcoin then it should be just bitcoin and yes, is good to have a basic knowledge of bitcoin but you must not wait to know everything about bitcoin before you can start accumulating and investing in bitcoin and gradually build up your portfolio. It will be quite misleading and contradictory when you say newbies need to learn more about crypto instead of bitcoin which is the point of interest to them. When you say crypto, it comprises of so many other shitcoins whereas the focus is just bitcoin.
Personally I’ve always advised newbies who are desirous to invest in bitcoin that it’s best they get started first in accumulating bitcoin once they are able to figure out a discretionary income to buy with. Rather than waiting to know everything about or trying to have a solid understanding of bitcoin just like you said, it’s better to get started first in your accumulation once the discretionary income is available and along the line as you continue with your accumulation of bitcoin you’ll be able to learn and understand more about bitcoin because it’s not possible to know everything and have that solid understanding of bitcoin, the volatile nature of the market even makes it more complex to understand bitcoin and even if you’re a pro, you can never understand everything. The best way to learn and understand is to get involved doing it and from there you’ll probably know more. That time you’re using to learn and to know more and have a solid understanding of bitcoin would have been used to accumulate a reasonable amount of bitcoin stash in your portfolio and gradually build up your portfolio, and at the same time you’re equally learning and unlearning while accumulating. All you need to learn is to be able to figure out your discretionary income first to accumulate with.
