That's right, I'm an Extra Class and was able to copy/send CW at 50 WPM, but now the Technician Class license doesn't even require a Morse code test as the Technician license is the entry-level license in amateur radio.

I don't think you need the morse code for the standard license either now. After I took the first (bottom class) test, they let me take the next one up (sorry, can't remember the names) and I came within three questions of passing and one of those questions I kicked myself for getting wrong.

The only thing I would say to watch out for is that your callsign is linked to your address which means that if you get your callsign as a license plate, your license plate is now linked to your address. There are ways around this (using a PO Box, maybe?) so bear that in mind.
