Electricity is going to change everything. For cars it might be water. In Brazil, they use alcohol as a fuel for their cars. By the way, there are too many things that we make from crude oil, so it's hard to say what will replace that because there is no need to replace that at the moment.

It might sound crazy but will natural resources really run out one day? Doesn't everything end up back in the end? For example, we drink water, then pee it. Also the oil and other products that we use. I think that we don't have to worry about that and resources are enough to last for thousands centuries. But in just a few centuries, we will be advanced enough that we will find a solution for every problem.
