His period at United was terrible but he ended up with two cups, which is better than what United has looked like since he left. Because while he may have looked bad when he was there, at least they got some cups out of it, whereas after he left they were just plain old terrible. If he stayed, there was a chance, not impossible, for them to win Europa even, maybe not be better at league, but they could have won Europa, and be in UCL this season instead.
