I think it depends on the job or industry. For example, most employers nowadays in the IT industry don't really care about the degree. What's important is if you can do the job or not. They prefer to look at your previous works and portfolio in order to see what you are capable of, which makes sense. This also why there are a lot of career shifters in this field. Obviously, certain professions (Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer, etc.) definitely requiresrequire a degree. It's basically up to you whichever you value more. What matters most is that whatever you choose opens up a lot of opportunities.
