Sure, some people think that the site they're using to gamble can also be a hindrance just as your friend did maybe he feel that the site you're using to gamble is not actually the best site or suitable site for you which is why he asked you to join that same site he is making use of, but That's not the case. If your dealings are sportbetting then I absolutely don’t see any reason for you to change your site, except the new site is providing you with a better odds than your current site that you’re making use of. But if the reason you want to change the site is because you think you’d win more on the new site then it means that you’re being delusional or the person in question is being delusional - because the site has nothing to do with you winning your sport bet or not.

If the talk was about casino games, then I’d agree with them a little only on the assumption that some sites are capable of tweaking with the configuration to make them more at an advantage than the gamblers, but as for other things about changing your gambling site, I think they may just be some sort of superstition.
