Everything you want to do or become in life is about the sate of your mind, you can control anything you want to control, therefore becoming a responsible gambler is a decision you can make by stating rules and that will help you stay disciplined while gambling. Though it's not easy you said, it comes with a lot of work to put because you definitely you will be tested at some point to do things out of control, I assure you, especially when you encounter a huge lose.

Rules are very easy to set and hard to obey when you are gambling for profits.
