Same old story, No farewell match. There are some serious structural problems in the Indian cricket, no players want to take voluntary retirement and every time management kicks em out with same old drama. In recent time, 4 big players retired from Indian test team and no farewell match for them. Would have been great if there was some communication between players and management.
It could be communication gap between the team and the board itself because I clearly remember he said he is not done yet when someone asked about his retirement a few months back but he just dropped this out of no where means now board or committee or whoever made it clear to him that he will no longer play for India because I don't see any other reason for someone who said he is not done yet even if he wasn't playing for 2 years and changed his mind to quit in the next 2 months.
This and most importantly players should read writing on the walls and plan their retirement. They can say and feel anything they want but it's a fact age does catch up with you and young players will replace you. Mentality is such they keep believing of some comeback, even Rahane said the same thing in recent India's tour of England and funny part was he was saying this while sitting at comm box ( more or less -interview in England).
Sab saanp ki tarah kundli laga ke baith jate hai. Last toh padegi hi.
