Among the teams that have already secured a place in the Europa League, Aston Villa and Lyon stand out to me. These two teams could make it to the finals. While the other teams aren't as ambitious, I suspect the teams that will emerge from the qualifiers won't be too ambitious either.
Why do you think so? Aston Villa's last 5 games haven't been that great so far. They drew against Newcastle and lost against Brentford. They did win against Roma and Villareal, so that's that. Do you think their league form isn't indicative of how they'll perform on the UEL, like Manchester United or Spurs last season? I don't understand how you can conclude their ambitions based on the qualifiers' results or something else.
Yes, perhaps that's why they said it. Manchester United, who nearly went down in the Europa League last year, and Tottenham, who were relegated, met in the Europa League final. Despite playing very well, Manchester United lost, and Tottenham won the final. Tottenham will be in the Champions League this year. Because the Premier League's difficulty level is vastly different from that of the Europa League, many English teams were seen as the natural favorites. Similarly, English teams are the favorites in the Conference League.
