In another thread, I was advised to have my own testnet node if I wanted to use Bitcoin Core for experimental and learning purposes. So, I set up my own full node on Testnet4, it’s much lighter compared to the mainnet. Testnet4 size: ~7–8 GB, Mainnet size ~650+ GB and still growing. That makes testnet more useful for anyone to learn more about nodes, wallet settings and other wallet operations.

The Challenge: Getting Testnet Coins (tBTC):

Finding tBTC was harder than I thought. I tried many faucets listed in old threads, but most of them were either empty or completely offline. After some digging, I found a couple that worked for me, and I successfully got my first Testnet Bitcoins.

1. https://faucet.testnet4.dev/
2. https://coinfaucet.eu/en/btc-testnet4/
3. https://altquick.com/faucet/ [Login required]

Both of these were simple to use. Enter your testnet address = Complete the captcha = and get your tBTC

P.S. Both faucets recorded my IP, since one can claim once for every 12/24 hours. If you are concerned about privacy then use a VPN.

There are a few other faucets, but they required logins, so I decided to ignore them and only share those that don't require any login. If you come across more working faucets, feel free to share here – I’ll test and update this list.
