I never allow myself to play even with light alcohol, something like beer, because I understand perfectly how it works. It all starts small, when you just want to relax, and ends with just lost money, because alcohol dulls our feelings and we are ready to take more risks and even not control it at all. There have already been millions of such stories and it is better to draw conclusions and learn from other players than to go through this path yourself, experiencing everything on yourself.
For me, alcohol should only be consumed when you are doing something very lightly that won't have consequences, be financial or emotional. If you are gambling or investing, avoid alcohol at all costs. I only use that when I'm watching football with friends, having brazilian barbecue.
The worst thing someone can do is gamble or invest while drunk because the chances of going bust with your entire balance is very very high.
are alcohol advertising restrictions common like that? in which countries?
because at least in my country they have some warnings that most watching will ignore like "don't drink a lot" and "product for those over 18" but usually it makes no big difference
I agree that religious and social reasons will have a lot of weight on these kinds of things
Many countries do that. Sometimes the country allows alcohol but limits the advertisements. For example, in France ads are only allowed in limited media and must contain purely factual information (no emotional appeal).
