The problem persists for Cristiano Ronaldo. He hasn't won a proper trophy since his departure to Saudi Arabia, and they had built a strong squad this year. I expected them to win the Super Cup, but Cristiano Ronaldo didn't win that one either. The team is contending for the title this year, but this start hasn't been good for them. I think they'll play better in the league over time, and the championship could be theirs in Saudi Arabia this year.
He tried as best as he can, scored goals, made important assists but he could not run too much and contribute too much on proactive defense at his 40s age. Al-Nassr must know this weakness of Cristiano Ronaldo at his very old age and around his career ending and must build up tactics and choose players into their squad for enough support to cover this defense weakness.
Winning titles with Al-Nassr or not, it's not an individual responsibility of Cristiano Ronaldo but it's responsibility of a whole club, from sport director, head coach, and other staffs as well as his teammates in the club.
I have not really paid attention to the Saudi Arabia league but the recent cup final drew my attention as some Al Ahil players complained about the unfair treatment they have been getting building up to that final.
It's not a secret that Saudi Arabia football are trying to build around Cristiano Ronaldo's club, but if the league wants true development aside them spending crazy money then they need to be fair to all the clubs in the league.
They came so nearly to a trophy and lost at penalty shootout spots is not too terrible. It's a disappointed result for Al-Nassr but the season is only started and they will have many matches and competitons to fight for winnings and trophies in this long season.
With good players joined in the summer, Al-Nassr will have a better squad from attacking and defense systems so that they will be able to compete for titles better than a last season. Winning titles or not, it's impossible to predict now but I believe Al-Nassr will not easily to fall behind Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal in Saudi Professional League this season.
